The Mom Warrior

I do a lot for my kids. I hardly ever do anything for myself. I don’t really think about doing anything for myself, I don’t think I have time for it to cross my mind. That doesn’t bother me.

I love being a mom.

As you know I recently had my 3rd baby. Now it’s time to get myself back into shape. I’m not a mom who exercises during pregnancy and eats all that great. I’m pregnant, I’m hungry, I’m tired and I relax. So now it’s time to get rid of everything bad that happened to my body while creating sweet little Tinleigh.

My brother and his wife informed me they signed up for the Warrior Dash 2012. This is a 5k obstacle race. That’s right, 5k, plus obstacles. What better way to force myself into shape then to sign up!

So I did.

Now I’m committed with no turning back. So I begin my getting in shape journey. This isn’t going to be easy. Quite honestly the race scares me. Climbing walls, hurdles, fire, barbed wire and running!  I convinced Nathan to sign up too. Which actually puts more stress on me doing this race because I am competitive I feel I must keep up with him. I must also beat my brother who is 4 years older than me. I like my sister-in-law, but she’ll be eating my dust too.

While getting in shape I’ll also have to start watching my diet. Well, watching it more than I am while not eating dairy, wheat, nuts or seafood so I can still nurse Tinleigh. So I guess I’ll now be making 4 dinners every night. What’s the big deal with one more right?

Now, how do I juggle everything? New baby with issues, planning and cooking meals all day, the house work, my blog, exercise and still being a mom and wife. As usual I’m sure I’ll press on making it all work.

I’ll just come out of it a warrior!
