Shaving cream fight

Shaving cream fight

Charlie has basically been on the same foods for a couple years now and successfully had clean scopes. One could say he is in remission. Charlie can eat wheat and dairy which are huge in our diets. What Charlie is lacking is proteins. I am at a loss for something new to pack in his lunch. I need some ideas! Please help him.

Here is his current do not eat list.

peanuts

tree nuts

soy (he does eat little amounts, such as if it’s the last ingredient in bread. I’m not talking soy lecithin either, I mean soy flour. Tofu? No way)

sesame

celery

peas

deer

beef

turkey

chicken

scrambled eggs (he can now eat eggs baked in things as long as it’s minimal)

pineapple

the melon family which includes pumpkin

banana

shellfish

froglegs

His list really isn’t bad at all. But he won’t eat chips or pretzels. He’s sick of apples. He’s sick of sun butter. He’ll eat pudding all day long but that won’t sustain him. Any ideas are welcome!!

  1. What about pork or bacon? Can he eat those?

  2. Roasted chickpeas, quinoa and black bean “burgers”, bean and cheese burritos, chia seed pudding (adds protein and fiber to regular pudding), hummus with crackers/veggie sticks.

Hope at least one of those helps!

  4. We do rice rollers from costco. Ring bologna (until they take away pork) Applesauce (until they take away apples) we also bake carob chip cookies and since he can have banana we do banana carob bread. Applesauce cookies are really easy, adapt well, and are yummy.

  5. If he’s able to eat lamb, lamb mini meatballs can be yummy. Seasoning depends on your son’s tastes, but I might add some minced onion, chopped mint, then a little potato starch to help hold them together. A mini portion scoop (like a mechanical ice cream scoop) makes forming the meatballs faster, then I chill before sauteeing to make sure they hold together. Since Gage can eat dairy, maybe serve with a yogurt dipping sauce for additional calories/protein. You could likely place in a preheated thermos in the am and they’d be a bit warm at lunch. Good luck!
